How to manage the compare feature

---------------------------------------------------

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Compare feature of the Wishlist-Compare Plus app helps shop owners manage the Compare list on the website when customers add products to their list. The owners can add or remove the data/information from the compare list easily by this app so that customers can compare two or more products together with the same product type. It assists customers to make perfect choices and have good experiences while shopping.

1. Add the Compare group field on ACF

Step 1: First of all, you log in to your Shopify admin > go to Apps > open ACF > scroll down until you see the Advanced Custom Fields section > select Product option from the list to add the compare group field later

Step 2: On the Custom Product Fields interface, click on the Add group field bar and a pop-up dialog will appear for you to fill in the appropriate information for your new group field.

Note: in the "Field applies to" drop-down menu, you need to choose the one with Product Type. Because this feature only works with the Product type option.

Step 3: Press on the arrow placed next to the group field's title > in the items from Custom Field Types at the right menu and drag Text to add fields for the Compare group field (it only works with Text). Then, a pop-up dialog will appear for you to fill in the information.

Note: you must fill in the Namespace with the exact name: arena_cp (don't uppercase the letters). You can fill any name in the Key and Label

You can add many items to a group field by dragging Text to it

2. Add the values to compare items for products

Step 1: When you complete adding items to the Compare group field, then scrolling up and selecting the Products section to show all the products of your store so that you can add the values to the compare items for the products you want.

Step 2: Below is the product listing of your store, click on the products that you want to add compare values. You have to choose the right products with the Product type "Compare".

Because the product has a different product type doesn't have the compare group field to add values.

>>>> In case the product you want to add compare values has a different product type, you should go to the Products section, find the product which you want to change its product type, and then go back to the ACF to add values to that product.

3. Enable the Compare items

This is the last step you must take after you've done all the processes above to make the compare feature works on the storefront.

Go to Apps section > open Wishlist-Compare Plus app > in the General Settings, scroll down until getting to the Compare settings, then click on the Attribute button on the List attribute and mark the tick-box at the items that you want to display on the storefront's compare list > click Save

4. The result

Open your storefront, you add products to compare list and see the result.

*Note: Compare list just displays the items that have the values.
